face was there for a reason. It might be, and Ed might just be trying to cover it up by changing the lyrcis.

Last line of Tenerife Sea confirmed in his album's lyric booklet =
"And in a moment, I knew you Beth". She is apparently one of his ex's who he was dating around the time of the 2013 Grammys. But there isn't any known pictures of them together as it was all kept a really big secret, so much so that not even his die-hard fan followers knew about it. But he did say he was dating 'someone' at the time in a radio interview later that year after they had broken up.

There is a crowd shot of him with a girl (who doesn't appear to have blue eyes though, but you can't tell) at the Grammys but a lot of people think she's just a seat filler since there is no other pics of them together that night, or many pics of Ed to be fair. Personally, I don't believe this Beth girl was at the Grammys with him otherwise people probably would have known about it. I mean, if someone has a date at an awards show it usually surfaces somewhere doesn't it? Maybe it's just since Ed wasn't that big in the US at the time in terms of gossip news material. I suppose we'll never know.
Ed hasn't performed the song at the two concerts of his Taylor has attended in the last 6 months, whereas he has played it at all his other major night gigs in decent sized venues. It's probably just to avoid awkwardness since while it probably isn't about Taylor, people can still 99% apply it to be about her and he wouldn't want to put her in that situation as a friend.
TL;DR Beth is his ex. Song probably isn't about Taylor, but can still 99% be applied to her. We can still apply it to be about her though.
Anyway, less Ed - more Taylor.
