Where is that chart with the market adjustment rates that Kwo uses to drag GODoncé?

Britney was also at her commercial peak and hype.
Taylor was 6 years into her career after having a flop era.

nn yeah they have when the average #1 sales in 2002 was like 400k, and it's under 100k now.
Early 2000's was truly the peak.
90's had terrible first weeks, but amazing longevity.
Present has good first weeks, but terrible longevity.
2000-2005 was basically huge debuts, and amazing longevity. Nothing about Britney doing 1.3M was shocking, at the peak of album saes and when everyone else was doing such huge #'s.

They certainly haven't declined more than overall sales but first weeks have taken a hit too.

Million openings were rare even back then. Let's not do too much on Brinty

Taylor's only iconic/memorable moment is when Kanye interrupted her at the VMAs for an award she should have never won in the first place.

Well in the digital era we have Lil Wayne opening ~1 million twice, JT did near a million, Taylor did it twice, Gaga did it* ( ), and Adele will probably too. I assume million openings were not that much more common back then, but overall sales of course decreased a ton, which leads me to believe opening weeks aren't really that affected by the market

It was pretty successful in it's own right but all the singles flopped on pop radio.
Atrl isn't a good indication of the GP but many of the users on here didn't know an era between Fearless and RED existed...

Remember when Shakira sold out with her 20m WW selling Laundry Service but then came back with a Rick Rubin executive produced, critically acclaimed, 79 on Metacritic, a Grammy, 3 Latin Grammys, back-to-roots Spanish comeback? and everyone was over JLo?

Her 1st week sales increase with every album, so I don't see what's stopping her from breaking the record with her next album

"Iconic moments"
Who gives a **** about iconic moments and **** like that
At the end of the day no one knows if she will fade into obscurity like Britney or rise into immortality like Angelina.
All she will have at the end of the day are her INSANE numbers, incredible recurrent play, talent, beauty, and money.
But you go ahead I'm sure Britney's legacy will remain strong 50 years from now solely because e-**** are "yaaasssing" at her gyrating like a blimey idiot to Slave For You.

nah, the gp kinda gave her backlash for dating Harry Styles. It might affect her sales a bit. I don't think she'll go higher.
