Her private life really has eclipsed her public performance of late, so it was quite a treat to see Christina Aguilera tearing up the stage tonight with a passionate and gritty performance of "Keeps Getting Better."

Britney isn’t the only one back. After getting married and giving birth to her first child, Christina Aguilera has reentered the entertainment world. In a futuristic performance that began with pieces of “Genie in a Bottle” and “What a Girl Wants,” Aguilera premiered her new song “Keeps Gettin’ Better.” Not only was the song great, but the performance was amazing as well. I’m usually a Britney girl, but I may buy this new album.

I do contend that Xtina gave the hottest performance of the night. In case you missed it, check it out again. On fire! Despite the lip syncing (which many people have a problem with — for live performances like this, I have no problem at all), I found Xtina’s performance electrifying. When she came out with that mask on, I thought YES! FINALLY she gets it! And there was no red lipstick, WIN! WIN! WIN!

Britney Spears might have picked up the prizes at the MTV Video Music Awards last night but Christina Aguilera still decided to teach her a lesson or two. Britney looked stunning on the VMA red carpet as she showed off her slimmer figure but Christina still managed to look even hotter in a black number.
Reports in the press had suggested that Britney would be singing at the event but she didn't - and no reason was given. Her rival Christina took to the stage and performed a remix of Genie in a Bottle and her new track Keep Getting Better. The crowd loved Christina's performance.
