I'm sick of this song. Is it wrong I wanted more? Is it bad I don't want any pop crossovers? For me this album was supposed to be the one where she could prove she could stay strong on top of the game through Hip-Hop alone. I mean I was cool with a few pop singles but putting this one up as the lead single as the intro/"representation" of the entire album makes me have second doubts on the direction she's truly going for
Regardless this will probably be a summer hit but I'm still personally let-down.

I understand your concerns since I too felt that way, but now it seems like Nicki will deliver her own classic.... A more mature and polished Pink Friday.
She can deliver us a great rap album later (that is, assuming, that this isn't a great rap album in the same vein as Take Care or even NWTS) because right now the pinkprint (the blueprint for female rappers not the album) isn't taking just rap music to the top of the charts... It is about making the music you want to make without caring too much about what other, more privileged male rappers are doing.
fsdjakfjasdf i have too many thoughts on this to put them into one paragraph so that one prolly makes little to no sense. i just think that we are really boxing in what the pinkprint means to Nicki, female rappers, and rap in general. some of the best rap albums that have been released this decade (the 2010s) aren't hard rap albums. there is so much variety and even the "hard" rap albums have something special about them besides the fact that the rapper is spitting nonstop.
