While I'm not getting my jollies over the song as a person with business background and actual life experience and success i know this song has the ability to really last awhile and attract the following:
-fickle fans...those that only like specific things from her
-bandwagon fans...those moved by hype and whether its cool
-new fans...those that never really embraced what she stood for or the cartoon image and relate to a more RELATABLE (willy i said it just like i said in late 2012/2013 and look what we have going on...) image.
- keep her core fans at bay
I mean i told yall back in march/April when i was leading 10 team members mostly female on a major project and how when we were in Utah on a site visit two of the girls in the car (mind you mid 30s so i was the only 20 something in the car
were listening to bottoms up on the radio and talked about how they like her new image and they think she could be one of the greatest but they couldn't take her seriously with her looking like a clown but they like her real look and complimented her as being pretty and having gorgeous real hair. They wonder why she would hide dem locks under cheap $5 wigs...they went in but they DID state that they couldn't support someone based off of how she looked.
Was it shallow? Yes but thats a key audience that does help add to album and single sales.
Most people need to have next to perfect images to sell so it goes to show you that people respect her talent...but the image has to be right to.
I'm telling yall
SHE WILL clear 1.5m + in the states alone. Image IS everything even if it should t be.
look back and be real...in 2012 with dem clown wigs if you weren't a stan already would you have embraced her new image.
Its polarizing...
Its risk taking but its not for many...
She better look flawless and RELATABLE when she performs pnp too.
