Sam Smith going the AC/MOR route instead of releasing more dance anthems like 'Latch' is a huge mistake.
He'll be another torch singer with songs that only get played at weddings.
Eh. I think they're trying to market him as a Serious Artist like Adele so having him do more Dance tracks probably would turn him off to the core market he/his label is targeting (middle-aged "real music" fans) who don't see Dance as "real music."
Sam Smith is going MOR because labels want the next Adele because $$$ and sells. He is clearly better as a dance vocalist but that's not what will shift albums.
IDK even which Sam Smith song to listen to. There's Latch, La La La, Stay With Me, Money on my Mind, Lay Me Down. All of them seem popular.
Listen to Latch, and then look up the acoustic version. Latch itself is pretty great, but the acoustic version pretty much gave me chills the first time I heard it.
Deadline: Here is a film that instantly becomes the one every studio will want on their slate. Angelina Jolie is in early talks to star with Brad Pitt in an original script that she has written. It’s in the early talking stages and nothing is solidified, but I hear it’s happening. I don’t know a lot more at this point
Angeliga needs to stop with the 1st time directors and the writing/directing.
