Anyway, obviously you won't be satisfied unless Mariah sells a million first week just like everyone else on this forum. Seems like you guys would rather have an album that sells a lot but is trash, than have a good album that underperforms. That's fine. Check back with your fave's sales in 10 years.

You're not new here, so stop. It's not news to anyone that majority of the ppl from each camp drags the others.
I may not "stan" for Mariah but I support her work. 70k is horrible. That's lower than what Glitter debuted with. 70k is horrible for any "Legend". This includes Madonna.
And GMAYL was hardly a "decent hit". And you can't fault Madonna for actually doing promo & Mariah being lazy. Madonna WORKS for her sales, Mariah EXPECTS them. Big difference.
In 10 years, my favorite would be in the business for 42 years, so let's be real.
I'm not sure what "trash" you're referring to, but 70k doesn't deserve #1. Of course her fans think it's a great album (I say it's just decent), but even the critics average is only at 69 (for the moment).
If anything, this is a humbling experience for Mariah fans just as Britney Jean was a humbling experience for Britney fans (I would know) & her album actually sold 107k 1st week.
