I took your comment to mean that pop music snobbery shouldn't be a thing because pop music is by nature so lacking in quality that it doesn't merit snobbery.

How is junk food not inherently beneath other types of food? It offers little to no nutritional benefit and most are usually loaded with unhealthy ingredients. Unlike other foods, eating junk good can only be bad for you and needs to be supplemented with other types of food. If you don't believe pop music is bad for you or beneath other types of music, that analogy is off.
