Maybe it could have sold more. But, I read alot of Urban blogs after the Grammy's and many said her performance was fierce and they didn't know she played piano. Some went so far as to say "who does Taylor Swift think she is Alicia Keys"? . I know they were hatin' but I found it the ultimate compliment, cuz Alicia is known for her piano playing.
If anything, her "All Too Well" Grammy performance showed her critics that her voice has become stronger and she's more than a guitar strummin country girl.
Jody Rosen, NY Mag... "Taylor Swift: Platinum Underdog".
Swift’s influence has reverberated through popular music, yet she remains sui generis, a genre of one. By rights, she should be a fringe figure, a cult artist. But as 2013 rounds the corner toward 2014, as Swift puts a bow on her fourth album and begins work on her fifth, there’s no mistaking it: Beyoncé, Rihanna, Gaga, Katy, Miley, *Justin, Justin, Usher, Jay Z, Kanye—they’re all vying for second place.
That's right Jody.. Vying for 2nd.. Poor Lana, she's so non-existent in the US.1D should thank Taylor Swift but no one talks about them here either unless its related to Taylor.
