"'All' boasts just 0.1 percent more chart points than 'Happy'... Last week, 'All' won by just less than 1 percent."
Looks like one of their #s is wrong. Since they were claiming a 0.01% victory last week.
"Not a Bad Thing" holds at its No. 8 Hot 100 peak, powered by advances on Radio Songs (5-4; 116 million, up 9 percent) and Streaming Songs (24-21; 2.4 million, up 4 percent).
Its radio position is now 4 spots higher than its overall position and is propping it up a bunch.
"Fun" with airplay accounting for 50 percent of its Hot 100 points...Departs Streaming Songs after a week at the chart's No. 50 anchor position."
Ugh, I hate 'hit' songs that are so radio-dependent.
Actually no, it sold 74,000 this week. The fact is that they don't have a VEVO channel so the streaming is bad.
Though that song with freaking half its points from radio DJs does give us a good idea of the formula being unchanged:
78 million=50 percent. So 1.56 mil airplay=1 percent
74k=35 percent. So 2.1k=1 percent
So 1.33k sales still=1 mil radio impressions.
And if you look at Happy vs. All of Me: Radio + sales points: All of Me 389 & Happy 349, a 40 point difference.
Then if you use 50 streams=1 sale, there's a 40 point difference in streaming points.
Almost exactly the same, and since there's a 0.1% difference this week, rounding makes up that difference.
So the formula still works PERFECTLY.
It's just that their #s last week were...wrong.

Oh! I thought that chart position was for the Hot 100. I feel dumb now. Thanks for clarifying!
