It's clear now that US needs some pop music.

What kind of flop list?

John Legend is a Soul/R&B singer. "All of Me" is definitely a R&B/Soul ballad ala "Ordinary People". "Happy" is more of an R&B/Funky/Soulful record. It is not Pop. Ariana Grande is a Pop/R&B artist. "Problem" is a Pop/R&B/Funk record. "Fancy" is not a full Hip-Hop record. It is Urban with Pop influences. And "Dark Horse" is a Hip-Hop record [more specifically Trap] with some techno influences.

There is nothing fully Pop about the Top 5. Good try though.

But you never stated any facts, all you're doing is talking ****. And there are urban influences in "First Love", that heavy bass and percussion is an urban element. It's not a pure pop song.

All of Me is an R&B/Soul song, it is in no way "Pop". And since when is "ballad" a genre now?
"Happy" is a neo-soul/funk song, it straight up sounds like something soul singers in the '70s would do. It's not pop.
"Problem" is an urban-influenced pop song. The melodies, the horns, the composition - it's got R&B elements in it, even critics have stated that.
And how is Dark Horse pop? It's an urban song, it's trap influenced. The only thing I would say is pop about it is who sings it and maybe the chorus.
The US does not want pop/dance music. Just look at what happened to Gaga. They have moved on from that sound and so should you. Typical BBJLO fan, still living in the past and criticizing every move Jennifer does just for the sake of it. AKA is going to be an URBAN album, end of. If you don't like it, maybe you should unstan.

I know John Legend pretty well. He is primaly a Soul singer, but his work with All Of Me is Basically the same of Bruno with When I Was Your Man - a BALLAD, A POP BALLAND SONG.

Happy is funky oriented but it is purely pop.

Ariana Grande has showing some R&B influences, but her fanbase and public is purely POP.

Stop embarrassing yourself. All of Me is a soul/R&B song and so is When I Was Your Man for that matter. And "Happy" is in no way pop. Your lack of knowledge of neo-soul and funk music is showing. Next, you'll be telling me Cool Jerk and Fingertips are pop songs too. Plus Dark Horse is a hip-hop influenced song. The performer of a song does not dictate what genre the SONG is.

The contradiction. As you said, just because the singer does mainly Pop does not mean the song is a Pop record.
