First Love is in no way pop/dance, it's urban/pop.

NO ONE is here for pop/dance music anymore. Look at the charts. The Top 5 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 are all urban/urban-influenced songs. If she stuck to the original plan and released the RedOne tracks, she would flop even harder. When was the last time RedOne had a hit?
I Luh Ya Papi flopped because of a) the fact that it's not an instant song at all, it's a grower and b) lack of promotion. The label got cold feet when the song didn't get the attention they thought it would get but the song needed to grow on people, it's an "earworm" type of song. If she and her label stuck to their guns and actually promoted that song and sent it to radios, I honestly believe it could've gone Top 20.
