Wow, that's pretty low.

Why is that "ouch!"? Amazon operates at extremely low profit margins, and because this is Katy's debut album, Capitol is keeping prices low so that she can establish a bigger fanbase.

I am going to buy the album a second time to show my support.

:stupid:Um most of the new releases are going for something closer in price to the MSRP than a buffet at Taco Bell. $6.99 is a smack in the face.

Not surprising. Did they expect a six-figure debut for a new artist? She did almost as well as Ashlee Simpson.

I bought it first week at $8.82 but it always worries me when they cheap em out. It feels good, especially on my wallet, but it does make me feel bad.

Some of you people are really oblivious to the current state of the music industry. Let's see here...consumers are reluctant to buy albums these days, especially when they cost $15, so when the price is cut in half to be more fair everybody all of a sudden thinks she's desperate. Seriously y'all need to pull your head out and wake up to the fact that the album has been out for 7 weeks now and hasn't sold less than 30k each week.

Her album is great and she is a new artist who wants more fans....She ain't no Mariah Carey or Madonna.
