The endings is amazing. I got teary eyed on numerous occasions on this episode.

The show is honestly about Robin and Ted. The kids are right, there's no way the story is about the mother when she is barely in it. Ted and Tracy were perfect unfortunately the circumstances ended the perfect couple and perfect relationship.


My only fear is that the cycle would repeat itself, that Robin would still prioritize her career and want to travel around the world while Ted has even more reasons to stay and focus on his family, with the kids and all. The very same reason why Ted and Robin broke up in the first place and why Barney got divorced. It's painful but we won't be able to see Robin's character development with regards to putting her love in first priority but I want to believe that she will.

The ending is honestly very satisfying. I love how it went all full circle with the blue french horn and Ted and Robin's promise that if they are both still single at their 40s, then they were indeed made for each other.

Ooo can't wait to see the alternate ending. I wonder what it'll be like.

I think we wont see anything new. They just probably cut out the Robin part and ended it with the umbrella scene as the final scene.

But it will be interesting if they had to shoot a new ending just to please the angry fans

Alyson tweeted that there was a scene cut of Lily paying Marshal after they found out that Robin and Ted had got together to counter the scene of Marshal paying Lily when Ted and Tracy got married, it's probably that scene on the DVD.

Apparently the DVD also reveals the story behind the Pineapple.

But what about the story of the pineapple? or that online dating girl that Ted has high compatibility with?

you talking about that girl from season 1 who he finds through the matchmaker?! i have wondered about her so many times..
they should have revealed something like the date ted had that day, which he missed bcuz of robin was tracy.. and that itt further led to tracy believing that everyone has only one "The One" (her died)(she tried the matchmaker cuz she was forced by her friend to prove that there are more than one "The one"s for her). .and then she met Ted after 8 years.

kind of a destined happy ending for tracy before she tragically dies of an unexplained disease?? no.. okay.

That's not the alternate ending, that's part of the additional 18 minutes which were filmed for the finale and got cut from the final montage. I think the writers said on Twitter that they're likely to be included in the DVD.

The alternate ending is supposed to be quite different but it won't include new material (I assume the mother doesn't die ).

Why did they cut it!!? I thought that not including a funeral was the biggest mistake for the finale.
