I don't know, I just feel like BDD is a serious mental illness that people suffer from. To see it being applied to a current fad kind of lessens the severity behind it, IMO. Someone who had BDD would find themselves to look too disgusting to even post their pictures online.
Insecurity and needing validation is one thing, but BDD is something else entirely.

Well it may seem like a fad but actually people with image issues and airheads alike have been taking pictures of themselves obsessively for years.
I'm not sure you know what they're trying to get at or if you've seen people on your social media feeds do this, but I'm telling you there are a handful of people on my facebook feed that take at least 20 selfies on one occasion, several times a day, almost daily and they upload every single one of them. Along with that they seem socially and mentally off.
Personally, I think they're on to something. Maybe it is or maybe it isn't directly related to BDD but it's definitely a mental illness.
