I don't think one song will kill another, because Katy proved during the Teenage Dream era many times that she can have two hits at the same time. But, because Unconditionally died so quickly, I would wait more. This era is going so fast.

You don't know about charts and radio.
Once the song hit #1 and peaked a few weeks later it is time to prep for the new single.
The timing is perfect actually.
It's right in spring and will impact late spring/summer in a powerful position
