That's usually the case when you're inoffensive, generic, and impact less. People don't have polarizing opinions of you because.... They don't care to have ANY opinion of you.
The opposite of love is not hate, but indifference.
But in the grand scheme of things, Rihanna the artist doesn't have any impact (aside from fashion).
She's not really a threat if people don't regard her highly.
Not in impact but in numbers. Rihanna is adjacent to Madonna in regards to chart success and female record sales. People just look at her average individual album or single sales but as a whole-its impressive.

So true, which is why Beyonce/Katy are objectively the legends of the future. You can either find them flawless, or extremely fake.
Yhey are trying so hard to change Bey's image into some down bitch that parties with her husband
Beyonce controls every image we see of her so I definitely believe this. They want her to seem "hip" and "cool" but she's never been like that before this era. Bey is just a determined, quiet girl that focuses on her career and performances. She's much more believable as shy with a stage persona than this person they're trying to portray her as. She's not like an ordinary woman her age because she spent her entire life focusing on her career. They should just roll with that instead of trying to change her. She seems so awkward and try-hard in her "candids" recently

I guess. But when you consider over 70% of her "record" sales are $1.29 (or formerly $.99) singles, it just doesn't stack up with Madonna's massive album sales.

True but numbers are numbers no matter how you get them.
Lets say if for some Godforsaken reason Rihanna ends up with 350m records sold.
She'll end up being best selling female recording act. Doesn't matter if its mostly digital.
