That's how Big Time Rush got cancelled, tbh. After finishing filming the long Season 2 they went on a full year production hiatus from early 2011 to 2012 and continued with "season 3" with only 12 episodes and out of the nowhere they had yet another full year production hiatus until early 2013 that led to "season 4" with only 13 episodes, after that it was over.
