In countries like the UK guns are illegal and we almost never have gun shootings while they seem to happen every other day in the US.

I guess so. However, I strongly feel that before you buy a gun and are legally able to own one, there should be background checks on you as person, for any history of gun crimes, terrible mental illnesses, etc. They don't have to take them; 2nd amendment, I understand. However, stricter laws need to be put in place so the wrong people don't end up with them.

No they are not accidents, but there are far more fatalities caused by swimming pools every year than there are with guns.
I don't know how taking away guns would stop these murders from occurring??

I'm just saying schools and hospitals places where mass murderers target, should allow you to carry your weapon. How is it fair that we cannot carry our guns that we use for our protection into establishments such as these, while anybody who wants to kill someone with it can just walk right in and take out as many people as they please. All while leaving us without anything to defend ourselves with. It takes away OUR upper hand, giving all the power to the criminal. If I could carry my gun into places such as these, then maybe I can save other peoples lives.

I think that everybody who is a gun owner should be well educated on their weapon and the matter. Yes, there are idiots who should never be able to carry a weapon, in fact some states in the southeast only require you pay money for your permit WITHOUT taking any classes
