Not in terms of influence. That would be super hard.
Success? Hmm.. debatable.

Janet:
. the inspiration for facebook and youtube
. created an entire subgenre of music named new jack swing which other starlets such as madonna and MJ incorporated into their respective work
. brought full fledged choreography to the female pop star
. bridged the gaps of rap, r&b and pop genres that the likes of Beyonce and other fuse together
. has the most iconic magazine cover of all time that is forever etched in popular culture
. her poetic interludes became a common theme ins rap/r&b albums of the 1990's
etc...
Beyonce:
. reintroduced the go go sound to this generation with CIL
. I guess redefined performing for this generation
. her style of singing which is considered rap singing has influenced other starlets
So let me restate it again janet is once again more influential/innovative/impactful and a legend because of her contributions to music among many other things. That outweigh what Beyonce has contributed, a silly list does not change that or mean Bey is greater.
I'm not even going to list all the people that Janet has influenced in comparison to Bey's. Because Janet's list is exceedingly bigger and rightfully so

I think Bey is a bigger celebrity than Janet ever was but I can't think of a single thing she has really influenced or a particular person she inspired in music. Janet inspired a generation of female stars--Britney, Rihanna, Jennifer, Aaliyah, Ciara, Mya, P!nk, Christina, etc. have ALL paid their respects and have had eras (if not entire careers) that reflect Janet's impact. Nobody is doing Beyoncé except for Beyoncé. Not because she's not worth copying or because she's impossible to copy, but more because she hasn't really brought anything new to the industry. She's an amazing performer, not an amazing artist or visionary.

Right, it didn't happen.
Janet was relevant throughout the '90s. Madonna had a slight bump in the road.

Ew, the R&B fanatics on this board push too hard to make Janet's impact a thing. It never happened and it's non-existent today, accept it & move on.

Janet is a pop artist. Don't be racist. And don't be ignorant, your ignorance does not reflect the facts. If your world can be summarized with current pop girls, I feel sorry.

I think they are equal but if Beyonce keeps strong she might surpass her. Give her a couple more years.

Where is beyonce's "Nasty"? "Pleasure Principle"? "That's the way love goes"? Etc.
Janet's catalog is 100 times better than beyonce's (in my opinion).

Janet has 5 more albums than Beyoncé, and in the space of those 5 albums, there's a lot more culture and social factors that match this generation than there is with Janet's music, in terms of quality.. Janet's discography is very easy to forget, since it feels like she's "whispering" the same song to us 10-fold. Beyoncés visuals are unmatched when it comes to tours, Beyoncé puts 100% into the vocals and dancing, this tour has been her most creative yet if i'm honest, but as for cultural impact YES, Beyoncé relates to todays culture alot more that Janet attempted to with her last 4 album from the 00's, but All for You, Feedback, Call On Me, Feedback are bops.

I love how people say well I never heard of or I never heard people talk about (insert artist here) as if your first hand experience makes it a fact.
