I literally can't at this thread. This mindset that minorities have about 'the man' keeping them down
We all know that people aren't treated equally, and do I feel bad? Yah I do. But I do nothing to contribute to it. I've learned from my Sociology class (taught by a black man, one of the best teachers I've ever had), that minorities are discriminated more against because their upbringing is different and their parents are usually less present. And that leads to behavior/school problems. And that leads to stereotypes.
I'm not trying to discredit anyone's stories here. many of them are sad, especially in 2014 and the 21st century in general. I'm not trying to be condescending, I'm just trying to make race a non-issue. Who cares at this point? Race is a non-factor for me in just about everything. I don't care if my friends are black, if my teacher is Asian, if my boss is Hispanic. I'm seeing an African-American girl for crying out loud. You know where I see racism? From her mom. I know she thinks less of me because I'm white and her daughter is dating a white guy.
I'm just saying we need to move past these 'racial barriers' because it's keeping our society from evolving.
