This is the reason I can't stand some African Americans as well. We are all different people, but if you step out of line, some want to be "crabs in a bucket" and pull you back down. While there is still racisim, a lot of it is us holding ourselves back.

What I am saying is that by continuing to dwell on race, we are keeping race an issue when it shouldn't be. Why is race an issue when hiring someone? Why should a white person be hired over a black one? Why is race an issue when applying to university? Why should a black person be admitted over a white one?

Point being, it should not matter. Maybe it's an idealist way of thinking but it beats setting up new inequalities to balance out the old ones.

Your point of view is noble and I respect that but it is a very idealist point of view as you said.

Just acting like the victim and making yourself seem better really wont get people anywhere. it just creates more anger issues if anything. The best way to go about is just accepting that well none of are perfect and it will take perhaps even more multiple generations for racism to die out(if it ever will) , who knows even maybe 200 years from now the roles will be reversed and things will be the other way around if we ALL don't accept our differences and wrongs ...

Institutional racism would have to be demolished before that could happen. There are places in the world with the same mentality and you can clearly see the gap between who is wealthy and educated and who is poor and living in conditions that could be better, but to point out this difference is considered a bad thing.

Oh and also, this little kid at a baby shower I was at for my friend was making fun of my eyes. Then said I looked like one of his classmates and proceeded to call me some racist name I can't remember.
