Wait why are posts pointing out discrepancies in the rules getting deleted?

I mean it's fine that you want to change the "Explicit" rule to cover more than what it does, but as it stands right at this very moment, that rule does not cover anything other than posting an explicit image not in url+warning tags or having an explicit avatar.

Don't change the rules as you go and then say "that rule will be reworked in the future, your points stay", especially when the rules are laid out in black and white and another warning category would be better suited to his post/thread.

Just a bit of constructive criticism is all.

The change to the explicit rule is ongoing and discussion began before this conversation, if that helps put anything into perspective. The continuing explicit content on the site is of major concern to the administrators and enforcing applicable rules harshly or giving WP's liberally, for lack of a better term, for such content has been recommended to us. The current written rule does not fully and accurately reflect current site policy that has been practiced already and that is why the rule is being amended.

Shouldn't that be the priority then? How can people follow the rules if they aren't even there?

Ok i get that but a law stays the same until it is officially changed with a new law, like you still couldn't smoke marijuana in Colorado a week before the law was official or when they were talking about changing the law

I understand that, but shouldn't such a rule be posted so that the public can see it before moderators start enforcing it?

These aren't even my warning points we're speaking of, but it's just not fair to enforce different definitions of rules when it's still an ongoing discussion and hasn't been committed to the official rule page or even revealed to the members at large.

You have to remember that we can't see what's happening or being discussed behind the scenes.

Phoenetic answered me a few pages back and said that mashing up of names into couple names won't be warned unless it gets out of hand.

That thread would have been warned regardless. Point blank. End of. It was inviting an entire thread of discussion for something we don't allow. More importantly, the answer has been given and this sort of circular argumentation has been removed from HQ. He can send in a help request if he'd like, but that is the end of it here.
