anyway, what's your opinion of Gaga's ARTPOP performance? Career saver or career ender?

Rihanna and Lady Gaga made pop cool again. Without them, Katy would just be a pop rock artist, Ke$ha wouldn't happen, and Nicki would not have attempted to cater to the pop audience.

I'm sorry but Katy is not a talented songwriter.....

Yeah, I think you get that. It's the same situation with me and Gaga, I appreciate her talent more than I'd like to say because I grew up in the theatre. And everything about her from her music to her performances to tour are so theatrical. I respect that, because I think that lacks so much in commercial music now.
Yeah, she is. I just think she likes the success too much right now, which is fine. But I hope that with the next record she really shows her talent to the core. She has way more potential than she puts off with these horrible performances(most of the time) and I think you're aware of that too.

They already decided the single, she wants to release the video & single at the same time.

She and her team are really dumb tbh.

She's had some very strong moments as a pop-rock writer.

She's obviously not making Arcade Fire-level brilliance, but that's also not her schtick. I do think she gets a bit unfairly maligned on here.

They are. But ARTPOP is one of her best songs ever so I'm okay with her performing it regardless of how it helps the album commercially.

While true, this is because Katy chose to be on top and Gaga didn't.
If Katy chose to not work with the best in the business and write/compose/produce herself, she wouldn't be where she is now.

In her defense, I don't think she tries to be.

But yes, Katy is obviously above Godga.
