I get the whole 'Katy doesn't take herself too seriously' but the way she has developed this theme just doesn't fit the song. It worked for CG, LFN and Roar 'cause the songs are ACTUALLY playful, campy and bright. I think she should've gone for a luxurious route, the possibilities are endless. Who cares if a mature/dark/ whatever video would've not gotten her massive amount of views, but at least it would've made a great companion + complement to the song.

Also, I asked the insider if the grill or whatever the **** that is was too predominant in the video and she said Katy wears it for 15 seconds in a 45 clip she saw. She told me she thought that If the grill appears a lot more than that in the rest of the video then she thinks the video will be ruined.

I actually love the preview. I was expecting a dark witchy video but this I did not expect. People will call her predictable either way so it doesn't matter. This will slay.

Cali Gurls was candy land board game themed and the story was about her finding and saving her girls for a beach party where she had to defeat the gummies.

While Dark Horse is Egyptian themed, and going to be about men competing for Queen Katy.

The only similarity they share is they both seem to have bright colors, but that's not enough to say its a Cali Gurls 2.0
