Vin, do you remember the iconic scene from the iconic movie Something's Gotta Give where Jack Nicholson tells Diane Keaton (both icons) that he's a rap producer and that rap is meaningful and poetic and Diane Keaton (being the icon that she is) responds "yeah but how many words can you rhyme with bitch and N-word?"
Nicki without the colors and the craziness is so uninteresting to me personally. She might as well become an underground artist if she drops the costumes.
I agree. Nicki Minaj needs the wigs to make her interesting. She doesn't need the crazy outfits. She just needs her wigs and her "craziness" -- you know, like back when she was cool and respected, during the "My Chick Bad," "Hello Good Morning," "Bottoms Up," "Lil Freak" days. She could have a poppy image, but she just needs to stay away from making pop music, for the love of Allah. Without the "colours," Nicki Minaj does look like your average underground rapper. For instance, an artist like Nicki Minaj can't pull off interest like an artist like Azealia Banks can without some type of gimmick, i.e. bright wigs.
