Hamill: Molestation claims against Woody Allen were planted
Denis Hamill is a NY Daily News writer. This is his perspective on the situation.
Quote:
The 'Manhattan Murder Mystery' director doesn't fit the profile of a pedophile and asserts that the allegations are a part of his ex-lover's angry campaign against him.
Quote:
I don't believe Woody Allen is a child molester.
But when I read Dylan Farrow's letter in The New York Times accusing her adoptive father of sexual abuse, I didn't think she was making it up. I believe it's a scenario she's come to believe after it was implanted in her impressionistic head as a kid.
On March 18, 1993, after a Connecticut prosecutor declined to charge Allen after a three-month investigation of the same allegations, I interviewed him at his Fifth Ave. apartment.
Soon Yi Previn, then his girlfriend and now his wife and mother of their two adopted children, answered the door. I sat with Allen in his living room. Previn excused herself.
I'm sorry Denis Hamill is the man who wrote the article. Let me edit his name in.
It's not your fault, you just used the original title of the article. It made me think it was one of the investigators from the case or something though.
Oh, ok. Thank you for the clarification. Did he raise her though because the media says he did?
No problem, there is no correct info on that. In the comments someone said Mia wrote in her own book that she was 18. I am gonna track down her book and see for myself.
Why are all these outsiders chiming in? Only two people know what really happened. Since there's no evidence, the rest of us can't be sure of anything.
I don't like how the writer says "He doesn't fit the profile of a pedophile." What does that even mean? Someone who is a pedophile doesn't fit just one mold. He can look like anyone, and act as normal as anyone.
Mia could very well be lying, but to go on this long about it seems a bit ridiculous and extreme. Also, I wouldn't want to believe someone would lie about something so extreme and not be hit with a lawsuit at some point.

For those wondering (I know people have asked this in other threads on here), this article explains how Soon Yi and Woody met and eventually fell in love.
And no, it didn't begin while Soon Yi was a child. She was 20 when they actually spent time together for the first time.
I sincerely believe Woody did not molest Dylan, and I sincerely don't think there is anything wrong with his relationship with Soon Yi. As he says, the heart wants what it wants. If you're an ageist, that's your own problem.
