The production is mediocre at best. JD is ****ing horrible and all he is good at is TALKING and ruining the tracks with his annoying voice rather than making good music. I don't know why the likes of Mariah and Janet Jackson even bring him to the studio. He can't produce ****. She should have given DANJA a chance and he would've taken this whole record to another level. Mariah needs a CHANGE in her staff ASAP.

- IMO, "Cruise Control", "I Stay In Love" , "Love Story" , "Last Kiss" and "Bye Bye" are fillers type. I could do without them.

- The standouts "Migrate", "Touch My Body" (wow! I'd have never expected it to be one of the standouts), "Side Effects","Thanx For Nothin'", "O.O.C." , "For The Record".

- "I'm That Chick" and "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" are brilliant, but for a very limited time.

Lastly, I'd have to admit that she did a great job with her vocals, the lyrics and with songs like "Migrate", "Side Effects", "O.C.C." (the French parts were fun) and "Thanx 4 Nothin'".. these tracks give this album the identity and fill the lack of originality that most of the other tracks had caused. I'd consider them more experimental, unlike the other predictable and horrendously pasted off the Emancipation tracks.

Conclusion - This album was supposed to be a continuation to her comeback album that everybody fell in love with, unfortunately, the results came out as a bad attempt to use an out-dated formula. Hopefully, some miracle happens and I start to change my opinion on some songs.

Mazen, I completely agree with what you said about Touch My Body being a "standout," When it first came out as a single, we were all like, well it's easy breezy and FUN, but totally mediocre for a lead single. After listening to the album, TMB is probably one of its only highlights.

Yes, there are some excellent songs, but they don't leave an impact or an impression that Mariah is mostly famous for. It's so sad, but half of this album is almost irrelevant... and forgettable.

Love Story - 8. The unfinished version gave me high hopes for this because I thought it would be even better. But it's at the same level of quality. Plus the part at the beginning bugs.
Touch My Body - 8. Unoriginal but catchy.
Migrate, Bye Bye - 7. Okay at moments, but annoying and repetitive at others.
Cruise Control, For the Record, I Wish You Well - 6. Boring.
I Stay in Love, I'm That Chick - 6. Shlock.
Side Effects - 6. Dude needs to stfu.
I'll Be Lovin U, Last Kiss, Thanx 4 Nothing, OOC - Dulll. 5.

Deffo worse than Emancipation of Mimi. All of its singles were great, and then all the rest were sorta filler in that they were boring and/or sounded like retreads of the singles, but they sounded pretty anyway. Here, the best material is about on par with Mimi's filler.

However, I could see putting Love Story, Migrate, or Bye Bye on repeat if really good remixes or videos come out.

Crank That is one of the worst songs ever. Clearly, opinions on this album are going in two directions: OMG FANTASTIC and omg boring. Since there are many in both camps, it's really just a matter of how well it fits with your taste. And people shouldn't attack others for having a difference in opinion. Also, in my opinion, B'Day is much better.

No way. I say around 350-475k. After that, with word of mouth I do not see it surpassing 2 million total sales. I thought this was gonna be one of my favorite Mariah albums ever cos I got into her so much this era with Touch My Body but yeah, the album is kinda disappointing.

I expected SO much from her, especially since her last cd was so amazing but its like she got too comfortable and felt like she didnt HAVE to bring out a really good album.

Touch My Body is hot but i kinda thought of it like Its Like That, hot but theres WAY more she could'ave done.

maybe the album will grow on me but its so generic and no real bangers on there. I'm That Chick is my favorite song on there but apart from that, Touch My Body & Migrate are the only other listenable ones. and Migrate is just ok anyways. :-/

i still think its gonna do really well though

Such a clever, beaultiful and sad line at the same time...

People make such high expectations that she could release anything now and people would still not be satisfield...

Just relax and enjoy the album... which is faaaaaaaar away from being a bad album like some overreacted people here... it's a very consistant record. It may be better than EOM... but is still a very good record... with potential hits...

The important thing is that Mariah still got it... and she got it BIG! no one can deny it... she'll do just fine...

Now go have a life...

I don't like it either. I mean "Migrate" and "Side Effect" seem to be the only remotely standout tracks. I've never liked Mariah anyways, but I decided to give this album a listen, it was boring to be as well. Not innovative or anything to me. And after awhile, it seems to blend together, sometimes I couldn't even tell the difference between some tracks. It's pretty dissapointing, but I wasn't anticipating this record anyways.
