WFL (and I believe Diamonds) stabilized in the top 10 despite their failure to initially hit #1. But the comment about them having promo in the beginning, what promo? I'm pretty sure WFL had X Factor and Diamonds had SNL, both nearly 2 months after the release.
I said that they had promo following the release(whether it was a month or so later) and I don't think this will have promo.
It will pick up eventually, no worries. Rihanna's songs are slow burners, and this is also Shakira's single, not Rihanna's. The inital peaking will be lower of course.

The fact this song is so original and fresh makes me kind of upset.
I hope radio DOES warm up to it, which I think they will, and play it more. It's a bop and has a good sound that departs from all this indie/urban smothering the radio.
Shakira should create a radio edit where she turns down the volume on the chorus and softens the "Ohhhh ohhhhh"s..... and what the heck, she might as well remove the electric guitar too.
I remember Diamonds failing to reach #1 on iTunes until the SNL performance. Of course there were different circumstances, like radio play, but I still see potential for this song.
Well it's finally 1 in Argentina! That took a while but with that it's 1 in every spanish speaking country. It's just about to take #1 in Brazil too. Shame it's going down on US, but let's hope it at least stabilizes soon and doesn't drop from top 10.
