1. I never said AIWFC > IWALY or MHWGO. I was responding to a poster who said Mariah doesn't have a song in that realm of impact. So, your "AIWFC is irrelevant in Kazkhastan" or wherever else claim holds absolutely no merit whatsoever. And I couldn't care less about "impact" made in some small African village or the like that I've never so much as Googled pictures of. AIWFC is especially impressive because, unlike the other two, it had no huge movie carrying it and she wrote it herself.
2. Horrible discographies, your opinion. Which I take with a grain of salt considering who/what you typically go up for.
3. Ballad staples. Once again, I never said IWALY or MHWGO aren't ballad staples. But, are you going to pretend that "Hero" and "Without You" aren't also ballad staples? Especially in foreign and domestic singing competitions?
4. Whitney, Mariah, and Celine are all completely different. Especially the former 2. Whitney was a balladeer. Naturally we remember her for her towering belts and power. Mariah was never that. Mariah is known mostly for her whistle register. She's my favorite vocalist because she was more creative with her melisma.
No, Mariah could not have sung IWALY. But, Whitney nor Celine could've sung "Emotions" or "Vision of Love" either.
And for the record, I don't always bring up X whenever you decide to come for Mariah. I just think it's funny how you diss Mariah for so many things that can also be found in your own fave. I think you're an alright poster actually.

I won't deny it's impact and relevancy in anglophones countries. We all know the story elsewhere. And yeah, I even said it earlier, those two Mariah songs are also ballad staples to a less degree. It's actually one of the few Mariah songs I like.
I am aware of all the differences between them but still they can be compared as vocalists in a technical level. They all had unique advantages and weakness as well. It will never be easy thanks to personal taste so let's just leave it at that.
X is a special case for me, I don't necessarily agree or like everything she does. I am well aware of all the gaps and mistakes in her career/voice/persona. However, I don't think that's relevant to the opinion I might have of other acts. Cool, I thought you loathed me.

Emotions is also really difficult, but not impossible. Ariana did it justice.

IHN requires more vocal skills than IWALY. As satellites said, One Moment in Time is also more difficult.

I thought so until Ms. Ariana came and gathered Mariah note by note.

With the help of Mr. autotune. It's cute and all but I'd like to see her doing it live, I watched her cracking over her TW's F6. Mariah used to have a hard time singing this live but she delivered most of the time and a F6 was never a problem for her.
