If you want commercial success, which I honestly still believe you do, you'll need to do the following.

Drop the Xtina remix now and see what it does for DWUW.

It will most likely do nothing, at which point you are to scrap the video and move on.

Do not, under any circumstances release Gypsy as your 3rd single, for two reasons:

1) the GP will be completely turned off by the 'I'm-I'm-I'm...' section and you will not gain any traction on radio or sales because of it.

2) If you thought Katy's backlash for her 'A$IAn' themed performance was bad then you have another thing coming if you release Gypsy. The second any major alternative media gets a hold of it you and America will receive a lesson via the media about how 'insensitive' it is to use that word and all the backlash will end up on you because of a media that are all currently lining up to take a swing at you (I'm not saying I necessarily agree but that it what is going to happen).

Instead, if you want to get your first top 3 hit since TEoG, release Fashion! in the new year.

Release a video no less than two weeks later with one or two celebrity friends and make a tounge-in-cheek lighthearted video with a PROFESSIONAL director.

Let that run its course, at the end of which, regardless of it's success, close the era and have ARTPOP Pt II ready for Q4/Q1 2015.
