It has no relation to the days. SS has just been performed like 5 times in the past two weeks accounting for its rise to the top of iTunes. Since all awards shows are over it should fall back to 4 or 5 by Christmas as traditionally songs that have been popular for longer fill the top 10 such as Roar, Royals etc.
Yeah that aint happening. But DO explain why a track with significantly higher AI is lower than one without?

Trouble did top the sales chart, but it was only 2% below Heaven the previous week and is much more Dance-y Party-esque for New Year's Eve celebrations and such. 1D is not 2% away from #1.
I suppose Love Story is a better example as her only other Xmas sales-y song, moving 7-3 digitally. But by that time it'd spent 3 months in the digital T10. It was just outside the airplay T10 (#11). Fearless the album was in the midst of a several-week reign atop the Billboard 200. None of these factors are there for the song in question.
All stanning aside, ha album has had incredible longevity so far. It's not left the top 10 on iTunes except for a few hours when new releases pushed it down to ~12, and is projected to sell 75k this week, coming up on 3 months after release.
Obviously she's found a market in the USA & Oceania. Now she needs to work on truly breaking Europe.
No need to, now. She did appears on Jools that's for certain a must but for now North America and South America for Lollapalooza. She can conquer Europe with her second album.
Muppets special. This is the proof that she could've done better with at least a minimal promo.
(Disclaimer before the attacks: I don't say she would smash, but you know better = not flopping.)
