I was, but since I adore my boyfriend I've become a lot more open for the sake of the relationship.

Well, every experience is different. This one friend of mine, his reasoning was because once he had moved out and stuff it'd be better just in case his family (mainly dad) didn't receive it quite well. I understood him fully, to be honest. At least he could go home & not have to worry about getting dragged all the time.
