I don't think people consider those EDM? except Donatella (why do you like IT? )
Those are more pure pop songs, and yeah, those are the best on the album. Idk why she felt the need to do EDM (MJH, Donatella, Swine), it doesn't suit her

Honestly speaking, Gaga had a plethora of opportunities to make an album of this quality. If she would've just STOPPED with the EDM, it could've happened.

Nah. She's too into herself to deliver an album even half as good as The Fame Monster. She can deliver great choruses with a lot of potential when she wants to, but a full album?

Then you have songs like Manicure, Venus, and Swine that completely ruin the experience because they don't fit at all with the rest of the album.
|
Those are great tracks (although more are just pure Pop), but ARTPOP is hardly an experimental fantasia like it was supposed to be. It was literally a rehash of her producer's sounds, and that's the sad part of it. It's like she isn't aware of what she's capable of, or was capable of, depending on who you ask.
It's just sad how into herself she is to the point that TFM was her creative peak.

Omg. Can u just imagine if R8 dropped on the same day as Beyoncé and the local ape's album outsold Rih's entire week in the first day?

I don't think it was ready. She was still filming just recently. Everything is perfectly timed

Imo TFM was so good bc of Re-Done @ his peak + how quickly/concisely it was made(less than a year?) - which prevented overproduction.

Lol i dont get the Donatella hate. It's amazing during a work-out and the chorus really saves the messiness of the rest of it.

I wish Rihanna had released an album last month or this month.
It would've made everything perfect.

Ah, I'd agree with all of that. But I actually love ARTPOP the album. I really wish she would have kept with the promo image concepts, stripped down and basic. It would have matched the album a lot more than the images she's trying to push that really don't connect with the music at all.
The only thing image-wise that has clicked with the music so far is Venus, but the song itself sucks Marina balls.

There's nothing wrong with EDM. Sweet Nothing, Don't You Worry Child, I Love It, Wake Me Up, I Need Your Love...all fine songs. Gaga is just talentless, that's all.

Yep! But Redone is over and done with as a pop producer, so I don't know why fans are crying to have ha back.
Meanwhile, you have ARTPOP, which has gems and isn't BAD by any means. It's just uninspired and it marinated in the studio for like two years.

I always imagined something like this could happen so hopefully I built in enough fail-safes to make the dredging up of old posts not so embarrassing for me.

I wouldn't go that far and say she's talentless, but she's definitely delusional, stuck up and pretentious.
Just like Xtincta and Britknee.
