People always downplay Beyoncé (specifically the Navy and Army but that's another story) when the fact of the matter is she is relevant and is bound to have some success whenever she releases her album. When it came to Run the World (Girls)...I legit heard that song on the radio ONCE. Thanks to BET I saw the video and that's kinda how I heard about it. It was a crappy lead single. She won't do it again. All it takes is a good lead single and she's set. The real sign of a flop era is not being relevant, but everyone 13+ knows about her and most are fans. So there.

Um, no. Her fans don't want that. And the minute you upset your core audience with something that they aren't collectively comfortable with, your career is in trouble. Usher and Neyo jumped on that tacky EDM train, got a few throwaway pop hits (that will age disgracefully) but in turn saw the poorest sales of their career while many of their biggest fans become disillusioned/disgruntled and jumped ship...so much so that they're making public declarations about returning to their signature sound, seemingly as a way to atone for it.

Beyonce was smart to not go the dance/pop/EDM route, even if it meant sacrificing radio support at the time. No one respects a trend hopper. When that fad is over, and the backlash against all the artists who participated in it is on, she'll be unscathed.
