I have this theory that powerbottoms (like Gaga herself) are inclined to love Venus

General observation, Gaga is actually one of the few popstars who can survive a major flop.

She's creatively self reliant, which means she doesn't need her label to shell out the big bucks to hire hitmakers...which they're increasingly less likely to do if you're losing them money. Plus, if your name is losing value, hitmakers may be less inclined to jump on your sinking ship as their value relies on making hits. You fall down the ladder depending on how much money is available, with artists who have bigger funds taking first picks of the hits, leaving you hoping to luck out and get a hit others passed on. The downward spiral continues because the only other way out is for labels to invest more to buy you the best to pull you out, but they're more likely to invest into new artists.

That's why popstars fall into obscurity, even if they were huge, but Gaga isn't in that boat. She could write the smash comeback song at any moment without spending a dime. Hell, she could produce it too with some more practice. In the labels eyes she'll be a high profit to spend artist and worth supporting.

Others aren't so fortunate. If they go down, they will need sheer luck to pull them out. So much of their profile is based on being hot as well, so it's only a matter of time before stocks plummet and the labels find a new sexy pop girl.

Just something worth remembering.

She COULD hire song writers and producers who would write No. 1 singles for her. She just chose to do lots of it on her own and on her own terms.

Because she needs music. She needs that to free herself. She could not just take a song from someone else and sing it.

And you know what, let her rebel. She said on Howard Stern she clearly knows what music charts and is played on Radio. But she wants to push it to another direction.

I guess mostly she needs to work on how the GP sees her.

VMA were a great start and SNL too.
