It looks like the best plan for success right now would be:

3) Gypsy
4) G.U.Y.
5) MANiCure
6) Fashion!
7) Venus/ARTPOP

The last one is just in case she decides not to release a new lead in early 2015 because they're the most appropriate choices to coincide with Zero G Colony.

Gypsy should be the next single because it's more accessible and has the potential to keep the momentum going while GUY could slow things down since it's a bit riskier. I also think Fashion! could be a potential 5th single and then end the era with a riskier single like Sexxx Dreams or ARTPOP.

Those sounded so perfect. If she really has control like Interscope says, then I have faith in the era.

Agree with 3 and 4. Tentatively could agree with 5. I find it interesting that you seem willing to have Fashion! as a single. So many ATRL folk hate it, but I find it to be delicious ear candy.

I'd rather she had a team of professionals guiding her until the era has a legitimate smash.

As one of the mellower songs on the album, "Fashion!" already stands out, but beyond that, I honestly think it's perfect. It's definitely tied with ARTPOP for my #3 song on the record. It's slower with a smooth sound and feel, her vocals are brilliant - especially that note in the bridge! - and the retro () vibe is amazing. Plus, that retro () sound would help it on the current Top 40 panel.

Despite what anybody on here believes or says, I do believe that Gaga is and always has been an intelligent businesswoman. She and her label may not have always made the best decisions (YAI as a single that resulted in a WW massacre of sales and MTN as a 5th single when the era lost all momentum when she needed it the most, TEOG video, among other things), but her vision has always been there and her inherent plans have always been great (minus the idea as BDR and EH EH as possible singles).

They won't mess up this era no matter what many folk on here think. I know most of us have been complaining about the lack of promo, but I'm rather pleased about it. She's not as in your face as she was during BTW and I think as DWUW plays out, we will see it'll pay off in the end. Plus, promo is supposed to be an effective way to market material not something thrown in every direction with hopes that it'll stick somewhere.

ARTPOP era could become anything.

Well, I think the piano intro helps it out a lot. Gives a strong melody to begin with. And then switches up to some throwback groove with simple lyrics. It's not hard to digest and like you said is mellow (and to be quite frank, it's an AMAZING car ride song). Her vocals are showcased on the track while not as shouty as DWUW (which still isn't bad).

i think it could do well, but it's not unique or catchy enough to be a smash imo. Sexxx Dreams has a similar retro vibe you're describing, and although riskier, it is much more memorable so I think it has the potential to be a big smash

Gypsy is growing on me, so the Monsters that loved it from the beginning are forgiven.

I don't know about anybody else but does the track radiate PURE and UNCONDITIONAL happiness out of you? Like, I was having the WORST possible week of my life (literally) and then the album leaked and Gypsy just brought me into the light and I couldn't help but to be full of joy and love.
