this just about sums it up for me:
even the lessers on first listen, Donatella and Fashion!, have sonically earwormed into my DNA with like 5 listens.
this album is truly a pop masterpiece that will surely only get better with accompanying visuals and performances.
standouts for me, aside from the singles which i already love, are:
GYPSY - euphoria adrenaline EDGE OF GLORY sized love explosion
ARTPOP - such an ethereal trance surge... wish they amped up the tori 'hee hee's, but even without its such a magic portal into ether.
G.U.Y. Lovegame 3.0... i love all the production fluorishes Zedd doses the track with... such a ****slam and i love her lower register vocals.
SEXXX DREAMS. done. this song is absolute ear sex perfection. single single single.
MARY JANE HOLLAND... arena stampede skull smash.
i really could go on about each of them. what a rare and divine instance of all killer, no filler. every song has at least 3 different elements that redeem any weakness. for example, Fashion! starts pretty 'meh' but that SICK breakdown and the sheer power of her vocals (that sustained note! one take??)... ok, Will.i.am, go on and save yourself in 30 seconds. and Donatella's screeching chorus went from 'ugh' to 'SLAY!' in like 3 plays (thus redeeming that god-awful 'ask your gay friends' line.)
only gaga. i love a bitch who can completely own the weird like this. giving me such L.A.M.B. genre-trip strange and pulling every second off.
