My review is gonna come up soon. I just got sidetracked by editing my avi so Retro wouldn't ban me.

I wonder if anyone made a remastered version of the live performance of Gypsy yet.

I need it in my life right now.

Tell ha! ARTPOP came and revived the corpse of pop music. All it's doing now is lifting us all up!

Okay, I officially enjoy every song in ARTPOP.
Aura and ARTPOP may take a backseat though simply because I am overwhelmed by other tracks. Dope potentially...but I like Dope now more than I did an hour ago

sort of late to the convo but let me just get my opinion out. I'm not impressed by this album due to several reasons
As someone who enjoys 75% of BTW, ARTPOP lacks in edge and maturity. With BTW you get taken on a journey of Gaga from MTN of not giving up while you are down, to loving yourself, and ending with being on the edge of life and enjoying it. With ARTPOP on the other hand the themes all over the place, its sex, fashion, drugs, love, and art. Instead of telling a journey it just describes Gaga's past times and when it does try to it gets mudded with production like in swine. The album lacks several of Gaga's human elements that you can find all over BTW and TFM due to the simplicity of the tracks having their themes unexplored. Take G.U.Y for example, its about being dominant and submissive but it only spends around 30 seconds trying to get that point across and going into detail. You can say that it adds depth to the song but to me its just lazy. The album obviously has a fun, immature quality to it which is fine but for this being "Gaga's first real album" its worrying. This is more of The Fame than it is TFM and BTW.
ARTPOP also lacks on that dark edge she is known for. Like I've said the album is more simplistic and immature but in being so it loses its Gaga quality for me. I only get some of that resemblance with Aura(the demo btw), Gypsy and MJH, you can also say Dope but the track is weak if you are not in the mood.
Lastly she ruined some of the tracks. I know this is more of my fault for listening to the unfinished tracks but oh well it happened. Aura we all know the first verse is an abomination, Sexxx Dreams has been lowered from a masterpiece to trash with that bridge, and ARTPOP lost its euphoric trance vibe with the lowering of the 'hee hees'.
I do enjoy the album but I dont see it having any major lasting appeal with me after the era is done aside from a few tracks while I can still go back to BTW and TFM years after. So right now her discography stands as
BTW> TFM> ARTPOP >>> The Fame
the album has some songs that are great as standalone tracks but as a whole its all over the place for me

G.U.Y, Sexxx Dreams and ARTPOP was, and, is still my trinity.
Manicure comes in at number 4 and Gypsy rounds up the top 5.

I actually disagree. I like the fact she wrote about a whole bunch of things. I don't think albums have to have a main "theme" to be good. I can relate to so many of the songs in different ways.
+ Happy, fun. dancey Gaga is a nice change from all the dark gaga we always hear.

i have to disagree.
studio version of Sexxx Dreams and Aura are much better.
The bridge in Sexxx Dreams is way better than the last. That's your fault for listening to the itunes version too much. you just need TIME and let the light in.
the only thing i agree is that the hee hee part on ARTPOP should have remained, and J&D should have kept the last "Money"
