A spirit is a heavy alcoholic beverage such as gin or vodka. She's drinking 3 last spirits before going clean, "twelve lonely steps". Alcoholics Anonymous has "twelve" steps to sobriety. She's using this allusion in two ways: 1) She's "following" these steps to get sober, but 2) she's also using the idea of taking
actual steps to get to her goal. For her, she's taking 12 steps to get up to the Stairway of Heaven. A Led Zeppelin reference. I doubt she's using heaven literally, probably as a metaphor for paradise or where she wants to be in life.
Mining herself like coal. This could be taken in a lot of different ways. I'd take it as she's trying to dig down into her "mountain of a soul" and pull something out? But coal isn't exactly eco-friendly, she's doing it in a way that's polluting herself. She's polluting her soul, presumably with drugs.
