Rihanna and Katy obviously are singles artists but Pink definitely isn't. Not when she is outselling her more famous pop peers from the early 00s (Britney, Xtina, J. Lo, Beyonce). Who else is selling 5m copies off an album in 2013? Not many people.

Obviously, they are popstars thus they rely on singles. No popstar would be a success if not for their singles, that's just the simple truth.

Album artists can release successful albums without releasing a single. Your favourite is (probably, considering you're on ATRL) not an albums artist.
