Ruined everything? Bitch that era was already dead and buried by the time we chose the 4th single, it didn't ruin anything, it actually gave us the best video from that entire era.

And mature songs do sell albums. Ask P!nk, Mariah Carey, and then go ask Advil Lavigne.

And yes Blow Me (One Last Kiss) was totes mature , but what it was, was a catchy easily digestible pop hit that sold her album and allowed her to do something different (well as different as P!nk can get) for her next singles. Britney doesn't have that luxury yet, which brings me back to my original point of her serving up an easily digestible pop song with a catchy hook and chorus.

That won't sell albums. She has to go above and beyond to have a hit album again. Something, even a reinvention would be smart. At this point she's just living in a shell like a hermit.

I've never said she has to go run to David Guetta and Dr. Luke. You can do a straight up pop song that is appealing to the masses without being cookie cutter, pop music =/= Ke$ha and Katy. Naughty Boy's La La La is catchy, is radio friendly, and appealed to the masses while not being generic, very much like Circus, and both were easily digestible( i.e. Not jarring like Work Bitch) .
