Up-tempos are very frequently more acclaimed than ballads. People just have this idea in their head that coffee house music is sophisticated and high-brow.
Rihanna & Britney don't really seem to care and they just do their thing. Gaga seems like a really family-oriented girl who'll settle down with Taylor after she's done with ARTPOP or maybe another album era. P!nk said she wanted 5 kids, so God knows she's taking a hell of a break after TTAL era ends. Beyonce is touring but she also has a child, so she'll probably slow down too.
Miley is really someone who's hopefully gonna keep some interest generating for a while.
Of course we need ambitious pop stars but it has me thinking if she didn't have the success of her singles like how would she respond ? what if she was flopping ? success can't only be ur main focus.
Not only on Hot AC and AC, where recurrent airplay really matters and she's the reigning queen of those right now, but on Pop too, her old hits are always on rotation. Becoming a soccer mom was a good idea for her long term career trajectory.

She's alright. I mean, she's no Beyonce or Rihanna - heck, even Britney. I don't see any of her ballads (if she makes some more) turning into hits, unless they're REALLY good.
I prefer Brit her voice on her ballads more than Rih .
Xtine needs a comeback. I have to drag her cause her fans are all crazy but she was so interesting during Stripped and Back to Basics. Bionic and Lotus were disasters and it's like she lost her confidence or mojo, I dunno, but she needs a hit to get cocky again and start shading the whole industry DOWNE, while sanging for her life.
