Is that why 2011 got the biggest ratings ever (the year that Gaga opened the show)? Now, I'll give credit where it's due, Britney did bring in a couple of viewers when she introduced Queen Bey. Anyway, according to one of your fellow Brit stans, VMAs aren't very reliable.

People were just watching to see what would happen next and were probably disappointed when Gaga and Beyoncé muddled their tribute performances to a legend. It would explain why so many people, including Britney, tuned out the next year.
