The way I see it, the bottom line is that Ke$ha can buy herself out of her contract if this situation really is such a harrowing one for her. Stop trying to act like freedom fighters who are trying to rescue her when the only thing this petition (and the Twitter attacks to Luke) will actually do is make an allegedly bad working relationship even worse. No one knows that she actually wants out of her contract.
No mainstream artist gets to decide everything they do after just one studio album, no matter how successful. Did you all really think they'd let her go from trash-brat electro scene queen to some kind of punk rock chick overnight? And alienate the majority of her core audience? It would be nice if she had more of a say in certain things (i.e., singles, the album's track list, etc.), but that's not always how the music business operates for artists who are still relatively new. She's allowed to be sad sometimes, but it doesn't mean her fans should start trying to convince her label to give her the boot by way of poorly worded petitions and incriminating tweets.
