I'm most annoyed that she and her producers have been talking about going urban for the entire year yet decided to release an EDM song as the lead single. I've said countless times that i'm OVER this sound and the GP clearly is as well, deep down i knew from the start it would underperform/flop.

I honestly think the album will be a mix of a lot of sounds. Urban being one of them. She did work with a lot of urban producers.

I mean it wasn't going to last forever, not every lead single was going to smash . Justin went from an airplay smashing first single (S&T) to Take Back The Night, another iconic #29 peaking single. And he actually pushed the song. Beyonce went from a 5 week #1 lead single (Single Ladies) to a song that barely spent 1 week in the Top 30 , and she too pushed it beyond belief. To say Britney is "faded" is foolhardily.

I would love to see where this ends up after the push. The radio updates are still healthy. If it had a push and everyone still said no, then I'd say go ahead and call the Time Of Death, but we are still on Life Support and no one is pulling the plug yet

Also, how many plays on z100 and Kiis did it get?

What annoys me the most is that it is EDM at the end of its trend. Would have liked more urban influences but if she's intent on doing this to the era then all I need is a #1 album that gets certified. If it doesn't pass FF sales then she did it to herself.

It's just a shame that she is releasing her album at the busiest time of the year and I still am unsure now if it will reach platinum.
Gold should be a given though.
If they turn this around it can sell well over 1M if the singles connect with a main audience.

I don't think the single was meant as anyway to be Urban

He said in an interview a few months back that there would be dance songs as well as everything else. It is obvious this album is going to follow her "a la cart" formula, like In The Zone and Circus, rather than a more streamlined and consistent sound like in Blackout & Femme Fatale.

Wake Me Up is the best EDM song ever.

That's the problem. Even non fans were aware of this.
If they didn't know that Rihanna's Right now flopped and EDM for the most part is a dying trend then this is what they deserve.
Here's the thing:
YOU CAN"T TELL ME that if they told her it was #1 in 36 countries for an hour (leaving out those last few words that they are not aware of the song tanking.
If they thought not having the video out by today was a good move then they set themselves up for failure.
They clearly have not been monitoring the changes in billboard. But then again, they have because they worked it out perfectly with miley.
I guess Team Britney are just lame ducks.
So it should be fun to see how many opportunities they miss this era...There's three within the last week.


It's good the radio is playing it strong but Britney and her team need to get off of life support and do something.
Her tweeting the director about the video isn't enough. They should have already had the video out either the day of or at least yesterday in lieu of the Iheart radio appearance.

I still hope that her flop era surpasses others.
Just like her "flop" movie still outperformed Gigli and Glitter and Swept away.
