The tour was 99% sold out, the overall gross is low because the tickets weren't expensive. People went to her show, they just didn't have to spend a month's worth of pay on it.
She has vocal talent and great stage presence. She'll be getting critical acclaim this time around, I think. So she should be good to go in your book pretty soon
Also, it's not her fault that she's white and pretty
She has deeper songs, like Lost and Who Am I Living For, and some non-fluff have actually been released as singles (Thinking of You, Wide Awake).
