Anyway, I feel like writing this because of all the unnecessary meltdowns. Britney is a veteran in the game, you all should act like one!
Britney does not need to be promoting on every single TV show or slot. She is not a Kat de Luna or even a Gaga. These girls need to prove themselves. The reason why a girl like Gaga is insecure is because she knows she has a lot to prove regardless of her previous success. Britney is irreplaceable; these other girls are. They can sell, but can they survive? That's the true test. Britney's already proven that. It will take a LONG while before they are presented an opportunity such as Vegas, if that time ever comes.
#1 isn't everything. Britney's been pitted against all the top girls in every musical climate... Christina, Avril, Pink, Jessica, Gaga... You know why? Because she's the standard! Everyone wants to top that but they can't!
Sure it's nice to collect #1's but we've survived with #27 ""I'm A Slave 4 U" and non-charting "Not a Girl" and "Boys". Her versatility as an artist has made transitioning regardless of chart positions seamless.
My advice is to enjoy the music. It won't ever be smooth at this point so prepare yourself. "Work" is such a badass song it doesn't need a #1. Competition is nice and fun but it is just stupid to let that dictate your taste for the song. Most of all, DO NOT believe any rumor from any insider or whomever unless the Britney camp confirms themselves. Learn from GMA! From here forth take everything with a grain of salt.... LEARN.
Successful people don't care about what others are doing.

Best post I've seen on ATRL in a long time We need more of these senior citizens, 'cause they have experienced this multiple times yet they're still loyal with their faves as evidenced in this post, I mean c'mon people Britney was never a good single seller pre-2004 and her songs still managed to become classics despite most of them missing the top 10 or barely making it.

WB is definitely underground EDM. Not mainstream at all.
It's gonna be a tough battle.

Damn.

Exactly my thoughts.
Personally producers I want on R8:
-Hit-Boy
-will.i.am
-Bangladesh
-Calvin Harris
-Lazy Jay
-Kanye West
-Pharrell
-StarGate
-Max Martin

Eh, I could care less about the charts, iTunes, SYG, flop stans, etc.
Britney looked gorgeous today, gave a great interview, residency tickets are up, selling like hot cakes. AND Work Bitch is a BOP.
The ride to the top isn't always fun and pretty.
F**k all you flop fans and stans that can't handle a tough road.

BrINDIE Spears is too avant garde for those with flawed taste.
BRIT culture was an art, now art's in BRIT culture. She is her own canvas, her art pop could mean anything.

It's a good song, though. It bumps and it has a unique structure. Britney's multiple vocal styles are catchy. I think it will take a while to catch on, sort of how it happened with her fans after the premiere. There were a lot who after their first listen said "what the f***?" Listen a few more times and all of a sudden you're hooked. The song just needs exposure.

I don't get what's wrong with some of us wanting her to have drive and initiative. Hell even Celine Dion is out promoting her single and she's been in the game for a long time and has proven herself time and time again. And that's the point, proving yourself, always raising the bar not just musically but business wise too. but I understand that she's closed off now because of what happened in the past but don't try to say she shouldn't work or have passion.

The intensity and effort of promoting/performing shouldn't be underestimated, but I think stans expecting their artists to put in work is understandable. I definitely think artists promoting their work in a good way is vital to success. If she doesn't feel ready yet, she shouldn't though.

ATRL has been sucking away my energy these past few days... y'all are not making me excited for this era anymore. Heck, I was so hyped for FF even after all the fiasco that happened with it. Maybe I shouldn't have joined ATRL.

Vegas is going to be great for Britney. And wanting her to promote and do performances left and right is valid. However, we need to understand who we "stan" for. Britney simply doesn't have the drive to promote or do performances on shows. I accept her for who she is. The meltdown f****d her up and we are never getting the old Britney back. ever.

The nickname rule is kind of a mess anyway, so sometimes I have fun with it.

BrINDIE Spears is too experimental for mainstream radio.
You have to be a music person to understand the truth in her art. She is a pop ARTist afterall.
Embrace her art her truth, she will never be low brow
