I agree with what you posted...
The fear of the unknown after death is what scares me the most. The fact that you die and just stow away into a void without consciousness, without emotions, without memory is scary when you think about it when you're still alive.

Another part that scares me is when you die you leave behind friends and family. You leave behind a world that will change in the next few years and you aren't there to experience that progress.

When you go to sleep and ponder what it feels like to die is something of an eerie situation because when you fall asleep you slip into the unconscious, and ignore everything around you. It's like shutting off yourself akin to dying, it's only a matter of opening your eyes that you remember that you are still alive the moment you wake up.
