Just like Lana, Adele has experience in relationships and unless you've been in one where you really loved the person you were with, you shouldn't tell people how they should feel about people they love(d).
And people take Lana too seriously. Her entire act is based off the ideology of the 50's/60's. The obsession with Hollywood, fame, etc and the way women were viewed, etc. Her lyrics are supposed to be like that because they're supposed to reflect that not much has changed since those times.
And when it comes to Adele, her songs are about her reflecting back on her relationships, not going around saying she needs the guy who left her, especially seeing as how, again, her biggest hit is about telling her ex she'll be fine without him.
